Biography
Chen completed his undergraduate studies in forestry in Southwest Forestry University in Kunming, China. Subsequently, he pursued postgraduate masters studies at the University of Nottingham, in the field of plant genetic manipulation. Chen then continued his academic journey at the University of Nottingham, earning PhD degree in plant sciences in 2021. His PhD research focused on utilization of Petunia as a model plant for investigation of self-incompatibility mechanisms in Solanaceae family, as well as the associated gene expression mechanisms.
Chen joined the Crop Science Centre, as a member of the ENSA project team, actively participating in root science research of cereals in Giles Oldroyd's group.
