Biography
Huw completed his undergraduate studies in biology at Aberystwyth University. Subsequently, he pursued a Master of Research degree in biosciences at Aberystwyth University graduating in 2018. Huw’s MRes project focused on the genetic transformation of protoplasts in Lolium temulentum and Lolium perenne. Since graduating, Huw joined NIAB as an assistant plant pathologist working on a range of broad leaf and cereal crops. Huw now works as a Plant Pathologist at NIAB and continues his research into disease testing Variety and Recommended list candidates in several globally important crops. Additionally, he is involved in research projects focusing on fungal virulence and oomycete pathogens that cause disease in wheat and pulse crops.
